Something exciting just landed in your Geode portal: an Upgrade page. If you’ve been using Geode for a while, this is your moment. If you’re brand new, welcome — there’s now a clearer path to unlock more of the apps and features that make Geode special.
Here’s the short version: Geode accounts now have tiers. The Free tier stays free, and it’s still packed with useful apps. But if you want more — like Geode Gaming, the Account Dashboard, Favorite Dapps, Staking pages, the Private Exchange, and DNS — you can now upgrade once and keep that access as long as you hold a small amount of GEODE in your account.
No monthly bill. No subscription that auto-renews. One small fee, and you’re in.
Why we built this
Geode has always been a “do more with less friction” kind of place. Over the last two years, we’ve shipped a lot of apps — Social, Messaging, Market, Life & Work, Surveys, Profile, and more. And we kept building: Geode Gaming, the Private Exchange, DNS, Favorite Dapps, advanced dashboards. The portal got powerful. It also got big.
Tiers let us do two things at once:
- Keep the core experience free for anyone who wants to make an account and try Geode.
- Give power users a clean way to unlock the advanced tools without paying a recurring subscription that nickel-and-dimes them forever.
You pay once. You hold GEODE. You keep your access.
The three tiers, at a glance
⚫ Free — accounts with less than 500 GEODE
No upgrade needed. You get:
- Account pages, transaction history, network explorer, all Voting pages
- Apps: MyAgent, Dapp Search, Life & Work, Social, Messaging, Profile, Market, Surveys
That’s already a lot. You can build a resume, register your IP, sell products and services, run surveys, get paid to look at ads, message privately, and search dapps across nearly 100 chains. For most people getting started, Free is plenty.
🔵 Pebble — $4 one-time, or hold at least 500 GEODE
Everything in Free, plus:
- Account Dashboard — see exactly how coin flows in and out of your Geode account
- News & Information page — get the alpha
- GEODE Coin market tracking page
- Apps: Geode Gaming (retro-style AI-driven single-player games), Favorite Dapps (track your favorites across 100 chains in one place), Reporting (flag illegal activity on-chain)
Pebble is where Geode starts feeling like your dashboard, not just an app suite. It’s also the gateway to Geode Gaming, which is genuinely fun.
🟠 Diamond — $9 one-time, or hold at least 1,000 GEODE
Everything in Free and Pebble, plus:
- All Staking pages
- Advanced Utilities pages
- All Developer pages
- Apps: Private Exchange (Craigslist-style listing app for offline coin deals), DNS (register and own domains on the Geode network)
Diamond is for the people who want to run validators, nominate, register domains, or trade peer-to-peer privately. If that’s you, this is the tier.
About the GEODE you hold
The hold requirement is just that — a hold. The coins stay in your account. You’re not staking them, you’re not locking them, you’re not sending them anywhere. Geode simply checks that your account holds at least the minimum for your tier.
If your balance ever dips below the threshold (you spent some, sent some, used some on the marketplace), your tier access pauses. No drama. You can go back to the Upgrade page on the Geode Portal and reactivate. Your one-time fee is still good.
This is intentional. We didn’t want a subscription. We wanted something more like a “membership card” that you can keep using as long as you’re still part of the GEODE community.
How to upgrade (it takes about a minute)
- Open your Geode portal at https://geodeapps.com
- Go to https://geodeapps.com/#/accounts/onboarding — the Upgrade page is right there
- Pick Pebble or Diamond
- Confirm the upgrade
You’ll see the new apps and pages unlock in your portal right away.
What we’re excited for you to try first
Three things stand out for the first week:
- Geode Gaming (NEW for Pebble+) — retro-style single-player games with an AI twist. Quick, fun, surprisingly addictive.
- Account Dashboard (Pebble+) — finally see your coin flows clearly. Useful for tax time, useful for understanding how you actually use Geode.
- Staking (Diamond) — stake to earn more GEODE coin daily as a Nominator or Validator.
- DNS (Diamond) — register the words you want on the Geode network. Free to register, your account owns them, you can sell and transfer them. Build your brand on-chain.
